James “This Guy” Smolko is a professional art-man and semi-professional weirdo. With 2,103,796.8 minutes of experience, his work has been described as “niche, but in a good way.” He is able to work in a variety of styles and mediums, both traditionally and digitally, and specializes in portraits and caricatures. James’ influences range from classic to contemporary and include Wally Wood, Mark Fredrickson, Mort Drucker, Drew Friedman, C.F. Payne, John Cuneo, Regan Dunnick, Berni Wrightson, and John Singer Sargent (phew).

Often called The King of Cool (but only by his mother), he is known for his humorous illustrations, his quick completion of tasks, and his attention to detail. He is easy to work with and able to maintain productive and long-lasting client relationships. Currently, he is an Illustrator at Southern California Graphics.
